Northern Healthcare have now opened a new service in Hull city centre, providing enhanced supported living accommodation for people with mental health problems, autism, brain injury and learning disabilities.
Amy Johnson House can accommodate up to 18 people in single ensuite rooms. The building also has communal kitchens, lounge area and space for activities as well as offices and meetings rooms. The team are available onsite 24/7 , residents are supported by an Occupational Therapist, Mental Health Nurse, Support Workers, a Business Administrator and a Service Manager.
Lucy Chu, Northern Healthcare’s Business Development Manager, said the company is looking to work in partnership with businesses to develop the remaining ground floor space to provide work experience opportunities for residents.
Lucy said: “The residents are tenants of a housing association and we provide the healthcare services for them. Amy Johnson House is home to people over 18, male and female, who need help with a step in the right direction to find work. They have a wide spectrum of abilities and our focus is to support them with independent living.
“It’s a great location with so many facilities nearby including theatres, cinemas, the ice arena and a lot of free things as well with museums and community activities.”
