Staff and residents from Montgomery House completed the Pretty Muddy Race for Life this weekend. One resident even completed the challenge despite fracturing her foot in the weeks before the event, which is a huge testament to this resident and shows great determination!
Watch the team complete obstacles including army crawling under a net and sliding down a giant inflatable slide, before they cross the finish line in the video below:
Montgomery House staff and residents raised £532.00 overall, which is an amazing achievement! Well done to all the team.
All donations will be going to Cancer Research UK to help fund their vital work.
Take a look at some snaps from the event – pre-mud, mud pending… and the muddy aftermath!
The residents and staff all thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the event and contributing to such an important cause.
1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime, which means sadly we are all likely to be affected by cancer at some point in our lives, whether directly or indirectly. That’s why research is so important, and luckily everyone can get involved in supporting the life-changing work that Cancer Research UK do.
A big portion of Cancer Research UK’s income each year is through donations, and fundraising events such as Race for Life are a great way to get involved whilst also having fun!
In 2020/2021, for every £1 donated to Cancer Research UK, 87p went towards beating cancer. Cancer Research UK committed £388 million towards research projects on almost every aspect of cancer. These research projects will run for up to 5 years.
