Please join us in welcoming our new Clinical Development Director, Dawn Fearn, to the Northern Healthcare team! Dawn brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role and is excited to get stuck in with lots of new ideas and initiatives.
Dawn is a Registered Mental Health Nurse (BSc Hons) professional with experience in multiple NHS environments that include prison healthcare, substance misuse, dual diagnosis, mental health primary care, crisis resolution home treatment, mental health rehabilitation, and mental health inpatient flow.
Dawn is a qualified CBT therapist and Nurse prescriber. An experienced clinician who has developed wider strategic and operational experience over an 18-year career across a range of sectors of the NHS. She has developed excellent working relationships with partners across the healthcare system and has led on and developed innovative pilot schemes with the ICS and Independent Sector Organisations to support patient flow across large geographical areas.
Pragmatic and results orientated, she is committed to safe and excellent care delivery, pursuing values of positivity, honesty, integrity, hard work and dedication, through strong visible and compassionate leadership. She is passionate about offering evidence-based care and promotes a culture of inclusivity and collective leadership to achieve the desired outcomes.
Dawn is also a specialist advisor to the CQC and has supported several inspections over the last 6 years. This work has allowed her to take best practice from around the country and has broadened her knowledge base of the policy/standards agenda in relation to different fields of mental health and learning disability along with the broader policy drivers pertinent to healthcare delivery.
