The team and residents at Helena’s House hosted an afternoon tea to congratulate and celebrate Brenda, one of our Support Workers, in her retirement. All of the residents attended and signed a lovely card for Brenda to wish her well in retirement.
We caught up with Brenda ahead of her retirement:
I had previously been working in the Helena’s House building when it was a care home and so I was aware of the site. I saw an advertisement for the Support Worker role with Northern Healthcare and thought it would be interesting.
I have enjoyed supporting the residents and seeing the positive impact that this support has had on them.
Many of the standout memories from my time at Helena’s House are when the team and I have taken the residents on days out to museums or cathedrals, seeing the positive impact it has had and how much the residents enjoy it has been really great.
I would say that Northern Healthcare is a lovely place to work, and Helena’s House has an incredibly good staff team.
I would like to thank all of my colleagues for making my time working at Helena’s House enjoyable. The staff have been a great team to work with and have always supported each other. I am going to miss all the residents and I wish them the best in the future.
My time at Northern Healthcare was very nice and I would like to thank all my colleagues – the Support Workers, Service Manager, Deputy Service Manager, and Team Leaders – for making my time at Helena’s House very welcoming.
