Our supported living services are full of activities with a busy calendar of group cooking classes, exercise, health and nutrition workshops, 1-2-1 time and occupational therapy to suit everyone’s needs and help the people we support reach their recovery goals.

For #WorldEnvironmentDay, Hyde Park House staff and some residents went on a trip to the Garden Centre! They then planted some tomatoes, spring onions, lettuce, beetroot, carrots and parsnips, which will hopefully grow into delicious produce to be used
Residents from Hyde Park House enjoyed a lovely, sunny trip to Bridlington! Luck was on their side as the sun came out of hiding so they could enjoy a delicious meal of fresh fish and chips right besides the sea.
A star is born! Our Hyde Park House staff and residents rolled out the red carpet for an exclusive screening of their parody production of ‘Cinderella’! Team members and residents from across all of our Northern Healthcare services were invited to this movie premiere – written, directed and starring our Hyde Park House starlets!

For this years Valentine’s Day, residents at Hyde Park House took part in a fun baking activity making some heart-shaped cookies and participating in a quiz!

The team and residents at Hyde Park House enjoyed a lovely Christmas meal out to celebrate the festive season!
Hyde Park House hosted a Christmas party – a fun-filled afternoon of karaoke and Christmas-themed bingo. Residents and team members from Radcliffe Lodge went along to the party, bringing along a selection of home baked Christmas treats for all to enjoy.
At Hyde Park House our residents created their own Christmas cards using, pens, glitter, stickers and transfers. They are going to send these to friends and family! Residents have also enjoyed baking chocolate cookies and mince pies throughout December, as well as chocolate chip shortbread which they enjoyed during the residents meeting.
To mark World Kindness Day, our Occupational Therapists supported our residents to send out a token of kindness from one service to another.
The team and residents at Hyde Park House were busy making key rings for their kindness package to send to our residents at Radcliffe Lodge to put on their flat keys, with a little note attached to each one. What a lovely idea!
The team and residents also had a brilliant time at Laser Quest and one of our residents and team members spent the morning volunteering at the local street kitchen to support the community.
To mark World Mental Health Day, residents and team members from Hyde Park House took part in a group quiz followed by a discussion about the importance of the day for mental health awareness over a cup of coffee.
Residents from Hyde Park House have been enjoying a range of activities including games of Scrabble and trips to the local gym!
Over the last week Hyde Park House residents have been out and about for Autumn walks and meals at the local pub and curry house with the team!
The team at Hyde Park House enjoyed a lovely breakfast get together for staff wellbeing. Snacks and drinks were also provided for the night shift team so they weren’t left out! The team will be doing this again next month for the opposite shift pattern so that the whole team has the opportunity to get together.
Business Administrator Sophie and one of our residents from Hyde Park House worked together to successfully get out of an escape room! This is a great example of teamwork in action.
This week residents at Hyde Park House enjoyed a BBQ in the sun, and also paid a visit to the Tower House, a local restaurant, for a meal earlier in the week!
Residents were supported to the park by the team at Hyde Park House, where they enjoyed a kick-about and finished off with ice creams!

Hyde Park House residents were supported to make this delicious Sunday roast. The team and residents also enjoyed a Jubilee themed party to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Our Hyde Park House Business Administrator Sophie and one of our residents completed their 21 mile sponsored walk on Wednesday, finishing in 7 hours! The weather certainly was kind too 🌞
The team set out to raise ÂŁ400 and have smashed their fundraising target! What a great achievement, well done team!
Hyde Park House planned a week full of activities for Mental Health Awareness Week, and Friday was their activity fun day! The morning began with Sensory Hour, a favourite activity of our residents at Hyde Park! Residents sit in the lounge with sensory lights and take it in turns to choose a song to listen to. This was followed by board games and a spot of gardening. The final activity of the day was a treasure hunt! Residents and staff also wore green to show their support for Mental Health Awareness Week. It was a great day enjoyed by all in support of an important cause.
Our Hyde Park House residents spent Easter Sunday completing an Easter egg hunt following cryptic clues, and then enjoyed baking this tasty Easter cake! They also made the most of the lovely weather with a BBQ, enjoying burgers, hotdogs, chicken drumsticks and goujons alongside a fresh salad and classic fizzy pop. On the menu for dessert… it was of course Easter eggs, kindly donated by Time Recruitment!
Our team at Hyde Park House supported our residents to a local farm where they were able to feed the lambs milk and offer carrots to the pigs! Our residents really enjoying seeing and feeding the animals and spending time in the sunshine!
One of our Hyde Park House residents attends a baking/cooking college course twice a week. He recently created this lemon tart for an assessment, and was awarded a distinction! 🍋 Our team are super proud of our resident’s hard work and dedication.

Hyde Park House residents enjoyed a Halloween party with karaoke and a buffet, complete with the cupcakes they made in baking group! They also enjoyed pumpkin carving and decoration making. Everyone enjoyed the activities and had a brilliant Halloween weekend!
Residents and staff at Hyde Park House went on a Safari trip which was thoroughly enjoyed by all! The trip involved a safari drive around the zoo followed by a stroll around the walk around area. There were animal talks on and even a sea lion! The residents really enjoyed learning about different animals and spent the next day telling the staff all about the trip.
Hyde Park House residents enjoyed growing and harvesting their own herbs.
Three residents from Hyde Park House volunteered at a local community project to celebrate Earth Day 2021. The local community of Eastmoor, Wakefield got together to do some litter picking & tidy up the local area. Well done team! Julia Cygan Community Support Worker at Eastmoor Community Project Limited sent her thanks to the team: “We would like to say a big thank you for taking part in Eastmoor Litter Walk on last Thursday. In total an amazing 31 bags of rubbish were collected. It was very successful event and we believe everyone enjoyed it.”
Residents from Hyde Park celebrated Easter Sunday with an egg hunt following clues to mini chocolates and receiving their grand prize – a chocolate bunny – at the end. What better way to finish off the day than with a Sunday dinner?
A local church to Hyde Park House, St Catherine’s, gave these beautiful hearts to our staff & residents to bring some joy around Valentine’s Day. The hearts are part of a community project called #reallove to spread joy & love to local people. Thank you for thinking of us!
Residents at Hyde Park House recently spent a lovely afternoon #pumpkin picking at a local farm in preparation for Halloween. Afterwards they warmed up with a coffee from the farm shop and swapped carving ideas – we can’t wait to see the results!
Residents & team members from Hyde Park House enjoyed a sunny trip to Scarborough this September! After a wander along the beach with a quick stop to ride the Ferris wheel, residents tucked into a beach day classic – fish and chips followed by ice cream!
One of our residents ‘JD’ commented: “I’ve absolutely loved it today, it brought back memories of when I was younger and used to go with my Grandad. It was the best day I’ve ever had. I’m now in the best mood ever.”
