During Mental Health Awareness Week, 18 – 24 May 2020, our teams and residents joined together (virtually) to highlight the importance of ‘Kindness’ and to raise money for the ‘The Mental Health Foundation’ – a service which provides invaluable support and resources to so many people.
The team and residents at Holland House started a food bank for The Foxton Centre to show kindness in the community. Residents also made kindness promises to themselves and others, here are just a few:
“If I had a message to someone struggling with their mental health, it would be… You are not alone. You are so strong. You are loved.”
“Kindness is important especially right now because… everyone is struggling but we’re all in this together.”
“My kindness promise is to always make time for anyone who needs a friend to talk to.”
The team also helped keep residents busy and engaged during lockdown with games, cooking classes, and a spot of gardening.
