Here at Northern Healthcare, we wish everyone a very Merry Christmas 2022 and hope that everyone had a lovely Christmas with family, friends, residents and colleagues.
The festivities began as early as November across our services! Here’s what our residents have been getting up to over the festive period for Christmas 2022:
Trees were put up, bunting was hung, and lights were strung. Residents from some of our services also created some homemade ornaments and decorations – Radcliffe Lodge residents created some ornaments, Holland House residents created some brilliant baubles and snowmen decorations from pairs of white socks, and Merchants House residents decorated a beautiful Christmas wreath for the front door.
Hyde Park House residents designed and decorated their own Christmas cards using pens, glitter, stickers and transfers. They sent these out to friends and family members who were delighted to receive them!
December 8th saw residents and team members from across our services and Head Office don their Christmas jumpers in support of Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day…
…Whilst throughout the month, residents and team members from our services all ventured out for their annual Christmas meals – the Christmas meal is a calendar highlight and is enjoyed by everyone!
From mince pies to shortbread, from gingerbread houses to hot chocolates topped with whipped cream and marshmallows, our residents have been busy in the kitchen this month!
This year residents from Mary Seacole House enjoyed a trip to Manchester Christmas markets, while Holland House residents paid a visit to Barton Grange to check out the Christmas display. Montgomery House residents enjoyed a trip to the Trafford Centre with Occupational Therapy Support Worker Debra, whilst residents from Glen Garth House and Tenby House met up for an early lunch together before visiting Chatsworth Christmas Craft Fair!
Milnshaw House team and residents transformed their Proud post box into a second Christmas tree, with an amazing Santa Claus tree topper! Kirk House opted to transform their post box into a Nutcracker, while Mary Seacole House went all out with an almost life-size recreation of Santa!
In contrast, residents and team members at Glen Garth House chose a more subtle, traditional look, while Montgomery House opted for a meet-in-the-middle design, combining traditional with subtle!
Traditional roasts were prepped and devoured, festive Christmas hats were donned, and gifts were exchanged. Residents and team members from across our services had a lovely time celebrating the special day together.
We hope that everyone had a wonderful Merry Christmas 2022, and from all the team at Northern Healthcare, we send our best wishes for the New Year 2023!
