Q & A with Kerry Collis, Team Player of the Year 2021

When did you join Northern Healthcare?

I joined the Northern Healthcare team in October 2019.

What are your main responsibilities within your role?

Reconciling the bank accounts and helping sites manage their cash.

What attracted you to apply to join the NHC team?

I have never worked in the healthcare industry and I thought it would be both challenging and rewarding.

Can you describe a typical day in your role?

Liaising with sites and looking at a lot of spreadsheets!

What are the challenges?

Getting all my tasks completed for month end.

What do you like most about your role?

I love getting out to the sites and seeing the fantastic work everybody does, seeing happy and active residents definitely makes me proud to be part of Northern Healthcare.

Please let us know about a standout memory from your time at Northern Healthcare.

A site was really struggling managing their finances, and I helped to make a small change to an old system which really helped them gain more confidence in their daily role.

If you could describe your role in 3 words what would they be?

Challenging, rewarding and analytical.

How did it feel to be nominated and win the NHC Team Player of the Year award?

I was really shocked, it was nice to feel appreciated.

What would you say to someone thinking of joining Northern Healthcare?
