Debra Wadsworth, from Manchester, won the Joy Maker title in the Care Home division at this year’s National Stars of Social Care Awards. The awards ceremony was held in London and hosted by well-known TV presenter, Josie Gibson.
The Joy Maker Award, “…recognises a special individual who spreads joy and happiness amongst their colleagues and service users.”
Debra joined Northern Healthcare and more specifically the team at Montgomery House when the service opened its doors in 2018. Starting as a Support Worker, she quickly discovered her passion for activity-based support, transitioning into an Occupational Therapy role.

Montgomery House Deputy Service Manager Jade Herdson nominated Debra for her hard work and commitment to her role. Debra plays a vital role in encouraging and assisting the people she supports to participate in therapeutic activities to help aid their personal goals and enhance their skills to promote independent living.
